BEAT THE BATTLE OF THE BULGES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!
The holiday season is just around the conner. It’s a time for families and friends to come together and share love, food, drinks, laughter and fellowship. The only drawback is many of us (non-vegans) eat and drink to much, resulting in extra unwanted pounds, which are hard to release.
Here is a little tip to help you beat the battle of bulges this holiday season. Use the “My Plate” as an example of how to build a healthy plate. Fill 1/2 of your plate with micronutrients (green leafy and bright color vegetables), 1/4 with protein (4 to 6 oz) and 1/4 with grains or another green or bright colors vegetables.
Don't go to the festivities with a mindset of "I will taste a little bit of everything " this rationale sets you up to gain 10 or 15 pounds over the holidays. You must have a strategy in place to win the battle. So, when you arrive at the Holiday feast survey the food selection and decide on healthy choices to eat then build your plate.
Remember change is constant but doesn't always happen over night, so be patient with yourself. Changing a habit requires doing something different to get a different result and more importantly, know that change is a process that requires implementing and practicing healthy eating and lifestyle strategies as you learn them. Practice truly does make perfect!
Holiday Tip: The more raw greens you eat the more weight you release, the quicker your body heals, cravings disappear and your appetite is turned way down. Enter this holiday season with a strategy to win against the battle of bulges.
Happy Holidays!
